Traverse Monte Rosa massive
Another adventure that happened to me this summer. Monte Rosa is a mountain range consisting of several dozen peaks 3000-4500. Most of the massif is covered with eternal ice and snow.

This traverse is a classic mountain hike, during which you will have to overcome 10 peaks of 4000+ m and varying difficulty. You can go along the main ridge, or you can go along the snow plateau, sometimes reaching easy and low peaks.

And although Monte Rosa is on the border of Switzerland/Italy, most of the route is in Italy. And the huts are there too. That’s why this route has a logical name – “Spaghetti traverse”. Because the main dish in the huts is pasta. If you are interested in certain mountain objects in the Monte Rosa massif, you can walk along the traverse in parts. The most interesting objects are: Breithorn, Castor, Polux, Lyskam, Dufour (the highest peak of the massif).

In 4 days and 3 nights we passed a bright thread through the following peaks: Breithorn Orientale 4137 m – Kastor, 4223 m – Naso del Lyskamm 4277 m – Piramide de Vincent 4215 m – Balmenhorn 4167 m – Corno Nero 43 4443 m – Punta Gnifetti 4554 m – Zumsteinspitze 4563 m.

This route will be interesting for everyone who has basic skills of moving in crampons, as well as experience of climbing peaks of 4000+ m in the Alps, Caucasus, Turkey, etc.
Start of the route from the village Zermatt and finish in the village Zermatt.
