Gathering of participants in the capital of Georgia until 15.00. It is possible to organize a meeting in Stepantsminda (Kazbegi). Let’s meet the guide. We move to a village under the mountain – Stepantsminda, 1700 m. On the way we will stop at a khinkali restaurant in Pasanauri.
We’ll spend the night at the hotel. Accommodation in rooms for 2 people. In Kazbegi you can leave unnecessary things in the hotel storage room.
Today we are preparing for the ascent; we rent the necessary additional equipment.

In the morning, transfer by car to the Tsminda-Sameba monastery (2200 m). With good visibility and clear weather, we will have a magnificent panorama of Kazbek and the village at the foot of the volcano. We will take hundreds of photographs for memory. Although Kazbek will always be nearby, we are gradually approaching our goal.
The beginning of the walking part, we gradually climb to the Saberce Pass (3000 m). After the pass there is a short descent to a clearing where there is a shelter where we will spend the night. Our first stay 3200 m, AltiHat shelter.
Accommodation in rooms for 4-8 people, there is electricity, washbasins with water, internet and heating.
All equipment and food are carried on horseback.
The trek is about 7 km, 4 hours.
Attention! ride on horseback above the Herteri glacier only from July to September (in spring and winter there is snow and horses cannot pass above the monastery).

After breakfast we go out for acclimatization and training to the Gergeti glacier. Here we will practice snow and ice technique, team work, and get used to the heights. Travel lightly, without belongings.

We wake up at night, have breakfast and leave no later than 3:00. Climb
We make the classic climb to the eastern, main peak. Part of the ascent goes along the moraine, then we gradually gain altitude and emerge onto the glacier. On the glacier we will put on crampons and systems, movement in bundles.
We rejoice at our successful acquaintance with Kazbek (5054 m), admiring the magical views.
Approximate trekking time to the top is 7-9 hours, descent is another 3-4 hours.
We go down to the camp and spend the night in a shelter.

We return to the village. Stepantsminda, we are moving to Tbilisi. We pick up city things at the guest house. Arrival in the city in the evening, at seven o’clock. Check-in to a hotel.
Today we will try Georgian dishes and take a walk around the evening city. We look at the sights, parks, fountains, the βold cityβ is magnificent.
The flight home must be scheduled for that day at night or the next day.

Important! In the first weeks of the summer season, transporting equipment on horseback is only possible up to the Gergeti glacier due to the large amount of snow.

In the lowlands, temperatures reach +30Β°C; in the highlands, frosts down to -25Β°C are possible. In summer, the temperature at the top is usually -5…-10, in the camp near the weather station +15…+20 C, at night down to 0.
Only the guide has the right to end the tour prematurely due to unforeseen circumstances or poor health of the participants. The program can be life-threatening, so you must follow safety precautions.
Based on the results of the acclimatization climb to Ortsveri and training sessions on ice, the instructor may refuse to allow the climber to storm Kazbek or recommend taking a personal guide. This happens rarely, but sometimes a tourist is not physically ready and has problems with coordination. According to statistics for 2018, 10% of climbers were not ready for the assault. The safety of the group is always for the first.
