How It All Started
We have been making people happy for over 17 years!
The beginning of the ExtremeGuide company was laid by me – Oleg Ivanchenko. When, after graduating from high school, I had a choice to go to the office to work or go more often to the mountains. “Hobbies started getting in the way of work.” I decided to quit my job and make my dream job my hobby. At first, the company was in the form of me alone, where I was a consultant, developer, and program guide, I built my first website.

Gradually, “Extreme Guide” began to acquire friends, tourists and climbers, who were the first guides of programs in the Crimea, the Carpathians and the Caucasus. These people have accumulated many years of experience in tourism, mountaineering, we have accumulated considerable experience for various sports events in Ukraine and the CIS countries – hiking, mountain, skiing, speleological, water trips in such areas: Crimea, Carpathians, Caucasus, Kola Peninsula, Altai, Ural, Tien Shan, Pamir, Iran, etc…
The first guides who stood at the origins of the company: Kovalik Yuri, Klebansky Vladimir, Broshevan Sergey, Rachinsky Yaroslav and they still work in our company.
Initially, there was no understanding why we are doing this and how. The main thing is that we liked spending more time in the mountains, getting paid for it and seeing smiles, happy people that we helped. Gradually, we came to the conclusion that sports tourism, mountaineering should be made more accessible and more popular. The idea of sports clubs is outdated in this rapidly developing world. Only a few people want to go in for sports climbing. This is how the idea of “ExtremeGuide” was born, the idea of helping people and making them happy.
The first trip as “Extreme Guide” – August 2008. The hike was a success! From that moment until today, “Extreme Guide” is growth and development together with our customers. We improve our professionalism, and you expand your geography of trips. Now the company has more than 30 guides working at the same time during the most active summer season. All professionals in their field who undergo continuous professional development, go through guide schools and training courses. Our team of guides that we are proud of. Every year 600-700 tourists travel with us to different parts of the world.
Our specialization is hiking and climbing of varying difficulty in the mountains of the the Alps, Caucasus, Kazakhstan, Nepal, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, Central and South America and also an active travel and rock climbing in countries such as Tanzania, Morocco, Vietnam, Cyprus, Norway, Iceland, Sri Lanka, Croatia, Slovakia, Egypt.

This is what we came to in the course of our long-term work with people. All the efforts of our work, from the work of a manager to guides on the route, are aimed at ensuring that a person who comes to the mountains, the country with us, is happy at every moment of his journey. It’s very cool when the eyes of people at the end of the trip, travel are on fire and we were able to “light” them!
Mountains are our dream, our life and we passionate about it. And when your hobby becomes a job, this is the best plan for realizing your potential. We love to go to the mountains and will do it in any situation.
And to share with them the experience that we have accumulated over many years in the mountains.
In the mountains, during hiking and climbing, we look inside ourselves, without the fuss of the modern world. Without mobile phones, internet and work. There is no victory over mountains – there is a victory over yourself.

Concept of our tours
More recently, the understanding has come that it is necessary to move away from large groups, “round dances” and the optimal number of people in groups for climbing and long expeditions is no more than 8-10 including guides, and for simple hikes and trips such as active tours and excursions 10-12. This allows you to create a certain fabulous, friendly atmosphere on the trip, reduces the likelihood of conflicts and division into micro interest groups. Therefore, further in our work, we will lean towards an individual travel format. Of course, if you contact us with a group of friends or it will be a corporate party, we will be able to hold it at the proper level, for the required number of people.
In our work, we have always relied on safety, fun and results. It is very important that these three concepts go side by side, and in the order when I wrote. Because when there are the last two, then for someone the journey can be the last, when there is no fan, but there is a peak in the record book, it is not clear why you live.
We offer you a ready-made logical and interesting route, from the simplest to the most difficult, from one day to several weeks; product layout, modern equipment, experienced and qualified instructors, the friendly atmosphere of our hikes.
You can always find a compromise, and it is very important for us that you, when planning your vacation with us, can feel comfortable at all stages of preparation and participation in the hike, ascent.
We are quite flexible and even with a minimal group, we try to make a trip! The route is not a dogma – there is no task to pass it from the beginning to the end!
In our trips, full authoritarian democracy reigns, led by a guide, at the same time, we always listen to your opinion, make adjustments along the route, taking into account the opinion of each participant both before entering the route and on the spot.
We adhere to the point of view that the acquisition of experience should be gradual and you need to start with a simple one, gradually gaining qualifications. We welcome your sports growth, so we will always be glad to see you in our multi-day trips in the Caucasus, Nepal, Alps, etc.
