Traverse in the Mont Blanc massif
In August we were lucky enough to make a good traverse in the Mont Blanc massif: Dômes de Miage – Aiguille de Bionnassay – Dôme du Goûter.

The route starts from the village of Les Contamines. The first day is a smooth climb to the Constrict refuge. The refuge building is made in a modern style: lots of glass and concrete. The next day we climbed to the ridge of the Dômes de Miage 3673 m peaks (of which there are only 5) and spent the night in the Durier refuge.

On the 3rd day we climbed Aiguille de Bionnassay 4,052 m and traversed along a narrow ridge to Dôme du Goûter 4,304 m. Always looked at that narrow ridge connecting Bionnassay and Mont Blanc. And finally I walked along it. We were alone on the route.

We didn’t go to Mont Blanc this time. 😄.
Descent to the Tet Rouse shelter, and overnight stay in the shelter, because we didn’t have time to catch the tram.

Overall difficulty of the traverse AD+
This traverse will be interesting for people who already have Mont Blanc and more technical ascents in their collection and want to go on an interesting, non-trivial route with a possible ascent to Mont Blanc.

Overall, this traverse is part of one of the classic climbs to Mont Blanc, called the “Royal Traverse”. For people in good physical shape, I recommend a route with a descent to the “Three Mont Blancs” route, thus making a complete traverse of the Mont Blanc massif.
