Meeting with a guide in the village. Zermatt, around 8:00, from where we will take the Schwardsee cable car to an altitude of 2500 m, walk another 2-3 hours to the Hernli Hut. After lunch, a short walk and training on the rocks towards the summit. Overnight and preparation for the ascent.

Ascent of the Matterhorn (4478 m). Departure time no later than 5:00 – 5:30. Usually the ascent takes 5-7 hours one way and the same amount of time for the descent. It is very important to reach the summit before 12:00 to descend in safe weather conditions. On the same day, if possible, descent to Zermatt, or an additional overnight stay in the Hernli hut.
*Note:
For your safety, there is a checkpoint along the route.
1st checkpoint is the Solvay hut. It is very important to arrive here no later than 3 hours after the start from the Hernli hut. Changes in control time are possible due to weather conditions and other circumstances.
The maximum time for climbing the Matterhorn is 8 hours (to the summit), if you do not meet one of the control times, the guide has the right to start an early descent from the mountain.

Requirements for participants in climbing the Matterhorn:
To participate in this climb, you must have mountaineering experience (peaks 2B-3A difficulty level/PD – AD-), confident movement in crampons and on rocks.
To participate in this ascent, it is necessary to have mountaineering experience, for example, Mont Blanc or Kazbek. Minimal rock climbing experience – confident lasagna on 5a rocks. Before traveling to the Matterhorn, we recommend that you take any of our training programs: Mountaineering School in Chamonix, Mountaineering School in Georgia, Mountaineering School in the Tatras, Mountaineering School in the Carpathians.
Note:
- People with sufficient experience and mandatory preliminary acclimatization in the area are allowed to participate in the program.
- To test your readiness for the climb, you may need one additional day with a guide for a test climb in the area.
- The best time for climbing begins in mid-July after the snow and ice melts from the rocky areas, and lasts until the first cold weather – usually until mid-September.
- The route is not used if there is a risk of thunderstorms due to the impossibility of sheltering from lightning.
- In case of insufficient physical and technical preparation of the participants, the guide can to refuse the final ascent to the participants and offer an alternative training and ascent program, without the right to compensation for the costs incurred.
Important! The requirement of local guide associations, due to the high danger of the route, is that a guide work with no more than one client. Meals are provided by participants themselves. The campsite allows you to cook on your own gas burners. During the ascent, you cook yourself using your own products under the guidance of guides.
At the ascents, the first aid kit is with the guide. Contact with rescuers is possible from any point along the route. Individual medications must be taken with you.

This program is potentially dangerous to the health and life of any of the participants. Guides provide the necessary safety provided that participants comply with safety regulations.
The decision to stop climbing in conditions that threaten the safety of the participants is within the exclusive competence of the guide and is not subject to discussion.
