The rock session of our mountaineering school will take place in Bulgaria, near the city of Vratsa. The place of our activities and ascents will be the Babka mountain massif, 1075 m. The height of the massif relative to sea level is not very high, but the drop in the rocky part of the wall is 800 meters, making it an interesting climbing target. There will also be something for beginners to do on short and easy routes in the nearby sectors of the area.
Недалеко от места базирования школы есть также несколько скалолазных секторов с интересными короткими маршрутами “Malkata dupka” и “Golyamata dupka”.
Since the height of the mountain is less than 2500 m, it will not be possible to perform the discharge here. But you will be able to gain the skills and make the ascents necessary to graduate to the “test” 2B, for the 3rd category. And, of course, more difficult climbs if you already have the necessary experience. After each climb feedback from the instructor.

Additionalinformation
We recommend starting active training no later than 2 months before the start of the program: running, swimming, cycling, cross-country skiing. A series of training video lessons will also be sent to you by email.
Certified FAISU mountaineering instructors who are well acquainted with modern methods and techniques in mountaineering will conduct classes and monitor the ascents. Instructors will teach you everything necessary so that you can safely climb up to category 2B of difficulty, inclusive, while leading the group. During the ascent, the instructor does not climb first, he only monitors the correctness of actions and the safety of the group.
The instructor will conduct all the necessary classes and training for successful and safe ascents. But on the climbs themselves, the participants themselves will be the first to work and make decisions. Your personal safety on the route will depend only on the decisions and actions you make personally. The instructor, of course, will monitor everything that happens and give advice if it necessary.
Based on the results of classes and training, the instructor may deny you participation in a certain climb or the opportunity to work as a leader. He can make such a decision if he sees that you are not ready to climb or work first in the group.
This program is available to any healthy, physically fit person. However, a basic level of fitness is necessary. You must be prepared to walk with a backpack weighing up to 10 kg and able to climb rocks with a top rope and a light backpack. Exercises for the upper shoulder girdle and aerobic exercise – running, cycling will help you stay in shape during the program. If you have previous climbing experience, you will enjoy the program more.
Accommodation is possible in your own tents at forest sites for free. The parking lots are not guarded by anyone. Or you can live in hotels, apartments priced from 15 euros per night. If you want to stay in a hotel, please let us know in advance!
You can eat either independently or together. You can buy food in supermarkets and cook on burners or eat in cafes/restaurants. The instructor is NOT a cook or waiter.
The national currency of Bulgaria is the Bulgarian lev. 1 leva is equal to approximately 0.51 euros. It is better to bring dollars or euros with you and change them at the exchange office. In large stores, payment by bank cards is available.
A general first aid kit will always be with the instructor. We recommend that you carry a small personal first aid kit with specific individual medications. Each climbing participant must have medical insurance for mountaineering. The instructor does not have the right to provide medical services, so you should not count on him to have pills, injections or any specific medications.
