We present to your attention a new interesting program hiking the Lycian Way. The route passes through its western part along the Mediterranean coast. On this section of the route there are cozy rocky bays, beautiful deserted beaches with clear turquoise water, ancient monuments of the Lycian civilization.
That is why this part of the Lycian Way is considered the most beautiful. The climate is distinguished by its mildness, for which these places are also called the “Turkish Riviera”. The temperature does not fall below + 8 even in winter, so the bravest will be able to swim.
The route does not have difficult sections or large elevation changes. So the program is perfect even for inexperienced tourists. In addition, we will not have to carry huge supplies of provisions, water and other things. There are many small villages scattered throughout the route, where you can always buy everything you need.

day
Meeting the group at Antalya airport or bus station. Arrive before 12:00. Then we take a tram to the bus station and take a regular bus to the city of Fethiye. We will spend 3.5 hours on the road. In the store we buy food for the hike and go to Oludeniz by dolmush. Then we will walk another 3 km to the place where we will set up tents and rest. In the evening, by the fire, you can get to know each other better.
day
In the morning we get up early, have breakfast and without backpacks we go to the village of Karakoy. This village is famous for the fact that it has remained deserted for 100 years. Previously, Greek settlers lived here. In the 20s they left, leaving over 3 thousand houses unattended. Most of them are still in the same condition. After exploring the village, we return to the camp, pack up the tents and go to the start of the Lycian Trail. From here begins a beautiful mountainous relief with peaks, gorges and canyons. Our route continues to the Faralya tract. This is a truly fabulous place. Not far from the valley we will stop for the night. Distance – 15 km.
day
Today we are heading to the village of Kabak. The small picturesque beach of Kabak remains almost untouched by civilization. Fortunately, Kabak beach is difficult to access for a normal tourist, there are no minibuses here, no boats dock here. Therefore, this place is adored by backpackers of all stripes, but with one love for untouched nature. Incredible blue water, pine-covered mountain slopes, the smell of pine needles and the songs of cicadas – here you can’t shake the feeling that time has stopped. The benefits of civilization are a small teak canopy, ascetic shower-toilet and kayak rental.
Here we will stop, if you wish, you can go spend the night in the neighboring bay, 3 km. there is no civilization at all and a sandy beach, and there is no water on this beach, you need to carry water with you. Itβs very rare for similar tourists to come here to spend the night. Distance – 11 km.
day
Today our picturesque path runs along the sea, and then climbs to the plateau, we admire the beautiful bays and capes from above and along the way we go to the village of Gey, not far from the village we stop for the night. Distance -16 km.
day
Having spent the night at an altitude of 900 m above sea level, we will descend along a rocky path to the sea. On the shore are the ruins of the ancient Lycian city of Pydnai. After visiting the ruins, we set up camp on the seashore. The distance is 10 km.
day
We start the morning with a swim in the sea. We pack up the camp and take a dolmush to Kinik, where the ancient city of Xanthos is located. The ancient city of Xanthos was founded on two hills on the banks of the Xanthos River, now known as the Eshen Stream. Xanthos is one of the important cities of the ancient Lycian civilization, which was considered an administrative and religious center. According to ancient records, it was founded in the 8th century.
Then we take a regular bus to the city of Demre, walk to the ruins of the city of Myra. It is impossible to name the exact period of the city’s formation, but it is known that the first mentions of Myra date back to the 4th century BC.
Then it was part of the prosperous Lycian state and even served as its capital for a time. During this very period, unique buildings were erected in the city, visiting which is so popular among tourists today. Although many structures were damaged by an earthquake in the 2nd century AD, the Lycians managed to completely restore them.
Overnight at a hotel or in tents on the beach.
day
Along the sea we will go along the path leading through beautiful bays and coves to the village of KalekΓΆy. KalekΓΆy is opposite the island of Kekova.
The village was built among the ruins of the ancient city of Simena, its white houses alternate with ancient Lycian sarcophagi. One of the stone tombs, partially submerged in water, has become a symbol of the Kekova Nature Park. Distance -15 km.
day
Today you can go on a boat trip to the sunken city of Kekova, on the island of Kekova. This is a sunken city, it was founded by the Lycians a thousand years before our era. In the ancient period, Kekova was known as Dolihiste. Dolihiste sank as a result of a strong earthquake in the 2nd century BC. The bottom sank several meters and the coast of the city went under water. This is how the island of Kekova appeared. Now, this sunken city is also called the island – Kekova.
After the boat trip, we will take a walk through the village of Kalekoy and Ucagiz. In the evening, we will move to the city of Demre and go by bus to Antalya.
day
Today is the final day of the tour, you can fly away at any time, but it is better to take a ticket for an evening flight, and in the morning drink Turkish coffee in the old cafes of the city with a view of the sea and mountains, and feel that the vacation was a success.
